INSIDER TIPS:
I've been reading around on the internet about blackjack and how to play. Now for most of you that have never played Blackjack before it could be a stressful time, especially if you're losing a lot of money. Well if your sitting at home and contemplating coming out to Vegas to play, I'm here to tell you that a little home work would be in order before you make the trip. "Well I can just go out to the local book store and pick myself up a book of what to do and what not to do, so why should I listen to you?" Number one everything you need is right here in front of on the web. Number two most books won't tell you what I'm about to.
Let me tell you a little about myself first. My name is Alan Broze' ( www.alanbroze.com )and I've lived in Vegas for around 15 yrs. Now. I'm a singer, songwriter, recording artist, and I paint in oil. I've also been known to drive a cab now and then. The point I'm getting to is that I've seen these people in Vegas trying to beat the casino. They can't or at least 99% of them can't. There will be an occasional winner but for the most part everybody looses. They don't build these hotels on winners.
Let's get to it. Look around this site and you will find an article that will tell you when to hit, when not to hit, when to double down etc. Learn all that stuff it's important. But now pay close attention. When you're looking for a table sit at you have to look at a lot of things all of which will put the odds in your favor if you do it right.
1. You need to play at a table that has a minimum of $25.
The reason is, the people that sit at a #25 Blackjack table are more apt to know how to play. This means that they won't mess up your hand by splitting 10's or something stupid like that. By the way if that happens grab your money and run don't stay there you'll go bust.
2. Watch the players for a few hands.
Make sure they are playing the right way. Then buy in and sit down.
3. Try to pick a table that only has two or three players at it.
This makes it easy to keep track of the cards. By the way I only play at a double deck table. Never a 6 deck shoe or single deck.
4. If the table is getting a lot of small cards out press your bet.
This means the tens are stacked up and ready to show. Just remember the dealer could get them also. 5. If there are a lot of face cards out bet the minimum.
6. Only press your bet if you're winning.
Money management is very important when you're playing blackjack.
7. If you're having a bad run get up don't just sit there and give them your money. Look for another table.
