There are literally hundreds of theories and strategies associated with playing roulette whether you play online roulette or play in one of the major casinos in Las Vegas. Developing a winning roulette strategy takes some time and some research to ensure that you have the one that works for you. Many players will try different forms of roulette and play different strategies before they settle on one basic one.
Before we discuss a winning roulette strategy further it is important to understand the game of roulette. Generally the rules are the same regardless of where you play, whether it is online roulette or at a real casino. However we urge you to check the local rules before you start playing to ensure that you fully understand how to play. For example, some online casinos as well as real world casinos will request that you make a minimum bet in certain areas of the table.
Next as part of your winning roulette strategy, you need to understand whether you are playing American roulette or European roulette. The games operate the same way, with one major difference. American Roulette will have a "0" and a "00" at the head of the table, while European Roulette only has the "0" at the head of the table. This changes the odds considerably in favor of the house, and is one of the major differences you need to understand.
Betting in roulette can be any or all of the following: single number bets, multiple number bets, black or red, even or odd, betting with the house on "0" or "00" and on rows or columns of numbers. The odds and payouts will change depending on the type of bet you make. Betting on a single number pays 35:1 odds while betting on even or odd, black or red pays 2:1 odds.
Now that we know the basics of the game of roulette, you can begin developing your winning roulette strategy. Some players will bet only single numbers while others will be odd or even, black or red, and so on. Players will watch the history board, which shows past numbers and bet accordingly. One of the basic winning roulette strategies is to ensure that you never bet more than you can win. Some players cover the roulette table with chips and win less than what they put on the table. Believed to be a product of the inventive mind of the 17th century French mathematician, Blaise Pascal, the roulette wheel has undergone very few changes since that time. The game roulette achieved great popularity when Prince Charles of Monaco introduced gambling to his home country.
Decades after roulette became a popular European gambling game, two Frenchmen by the name of Francois and Louis Blanc came up with the single "0" roulette wheel. This format became the standard format used in all European wheels.
When the game was brought to America in the 1800s, the Gold Rush gamblers rejected the single "0" roulette wheel. Instead, they returned it to its original "00" format. The Double-Zero roulette wheel thus became a characteristic found only in American Roulette.
Types of Roulette Wheels
There are two formats used in standard roulette wheels. The first is the American roulette wheel which follows the "00" format. In this way, the American roulette wheel has 38 numbers, including 0, 00, and 1 to 36. With the Double-Zero roulette wheels, the house advantage is 5.26% since there are two zeros involved, 0 and 00. This means that for every $100 you bet, the house makes $5.26 in profit.
The other type of roulette wheel is the European version. This roulette wheel contains only 37 numbers, 0 through 36. Since the European roulette wheel contains only one zero, the house advantage is relatively lower than that of the American roulette wheel. The house advantage is 2.70%, which means that for every $100 bet you make, the house gains $2.70.
The Layout
The layout of the roulette wheel is something that has been speculated upon by players who are trying to develop some sort of system they could use to increase their winning chances. Most players and croupiers think that the numbers 1 through 35 in the roulette wheel are arranged haphazardly. Although the roulette wheel basically alternates the colors red and black on its rim, they think that the placement of the numbers is quite random. But this is not the case with the roulette wheel.
The roulette wheel is a flawless display of mathematics and balance. All numbers, including the low, high, odd, and even, as well as the red and black colors, are alternated and spaced out over the roulette wheel.
Since the sum of the numbers 1 through 36 is 666 and the 18 odd numbers add to 342, a perfect mathematical balance is impossible to achieve with roulette wheels. However, to compensate for this, roulette wheel manufacturers have devised a specific arrangement that's going to give their roulette wheels the best possible mathematical balance.
They have placed the numbers 0 and 00 facing each other across the roulette wheel with 18 numbers separating them on each side. The 0 slot is between two black numbers and the colors alternate, ending with two red numbers on each side of 00.

I also bet 1.00 on SNAKE EYES(double 1 in craps) a lot which I only have an extra 1.00 or when I convert my "comp points" into a 1.00 (for every 100.00 you wager, they will give you a free 1.00) Snake Eyes pays back 31.00 if you win. A lot of times it hits on the first try, I don't know why, it is just the way their computer casino software is programmed I guess. This is nothing like a real casino......keep that in mind. This is all about the computer at this casino. NEVER make ANY sort of pattern out of yourself as the computer will catch on. Only do this if you plan to fool the computer meaning you create a pattern because you will then know what the computer is going to do in response to your pattern and you can suddenly change your strategy or bet on the place where you know the computer is going to hit. It reacts pretty much the same way everytime to the different patterns you may do.
Also I recommend spinning without betting everytime after you logout and come back to the casino. This is when they seem to review your last strategies the most and try to fight them automatically at the beginning. Just let them pass.
