2008 Presidential Candidate -
"None of the Above for President," shares the following statement about the economy as of October 17, 2006:
I, like most Americans, welcome the fall in gas prices as of late. Like many Americans, I, too, question why they are coming down so much so quickly before the election when oil prices have been much lower for at least a couple of months.
None the less, it's good to see the price of gas falling which may enable more of our citizens to have extra funds for the upcoming holiday season - such a critical time for so many businesses.
I do fault this administration and Congress, however, for their mismanagment of our federal budget. "W" is happy with a quarter-billion dollar deficit, calling, it in fact a great step forward. That kind of thinking would make most households bankrupt quicker than the Arizona Cardinals can blow another lead in an NFL football game!
The stock market (DJIA) has reached new records levels - after five years of recovering from the dot com crash. So, we are back to some record territory; yet, the NASDAQ lingers far below it's previously reached heights.
All in all, I see our economy as being in a mixed state. A number of great things are happening but we continue to ignore policies that I believe in the future will hurt us and our grandchildren.
I"ll be touching on these items more as the 2008 presidential campaign progresses.
Thanks for reading.
I am your 2008 presidential candidate,
None of the Above for President!
