You’ve probably heard by now that Pluto is no longer a planet.
The International Astronomical Union meeting in Prague voted to adopt guidelines that demoted the distant planet to secondary status.
What a bummer!
Talk about a bad day! You wake up in the morning and you’re a planet and later that day you’re not!
These 2500 or so scientists decided that Pluto just didn’t measure up like the other planets making it obvious that size does matter as has been argued in other quarters since the beginning of time.
Clyde Tombaugh’s 1930 discovery obviously still stands but Pluto has now been officially deemed a “dwarf planet.” Not nearly the honor it held before the day began.
I am proposing that in honor of Pluto a new word be added to our vocubulary: “Plutoed”
Definition: 1) To be bitterly disappointed, demoted, dishonored and/or shocked. 2) To suffer loss of status.
So from now on, when you have experience a disappointment, demotion or loss of status you will have a bit of a feeling for what’s going on in Pluto’s mind tonight. You, too, will have been “Plutoed!”
At this blog, share with us how you have been "plutoed." We'll be posting thoughts and ideas that may lead you to share something with our readers too. You can do so, obviously, in the comments section.
Congratulations, "plutoed" has just been voted the official "word of the year" by the American Dialect Society.

Your contribution to the English language may not be officially recognized [Not yet at least :D ] ; But I stand by you !!
I'm sure you get this all the time, but the word crossed my mind too - But not before you, so for what it's originality demands, it's only fair that you get the first round of applause !!!
Keep up the good work !!
[Pssst - i intend to link all my 'Plutoed' references to your site]
